Bob Angel
James R. “Bob” Angel, a lifelong Waco native, graduated from Richfield High School in 1983. After graduating from Baylor University, he taught science at La Vega ISD until beginning law school. Bob graduated from Baylor University School of Law in 1995 and began his legal career as an Assistant Attorney General in the Waco Child Support Division. He has been in private practice serving McLennan and the adjoining counties since 1998 and he is one of only a limited number of select attorneys in the Waco area who is Board Certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization – having been certified since 2002. In 1998, while employed at Dunnam & Dunnam, he met his future wife, Allanna. In 2016, Bob and Allanna married and began working together. Allanna continues to assist Bob to better serve his clients. Together they have helped hundreds of clients navigate their way through their family law matter, whether that be divorce, child custody, child support, modification, termination, or adoption. Bob and Allanna have five adult children who they love and adore. In their spare time, the Angels love to travel, especially taking their small RV to Texas State Parks. If you stop by the office, be sure to ask to meet John Doe, Bob and Allanna’s rescue Aussie mix. John is always sure to make you smile.

In addition to his litigation expertise, Bob is a certified family law mediator who employs his extensive knowledge of family law to facilitate fair and amicable resolutions for those who prefer to avoid courtroom battles. Bob’s calm demeanor, exceptional communication skills, and empathetic approach enable him to guide parties towards mutually beneficial agreements, promoting effective co-parenting and minimizing conflict.
Professional Memberships and Commitments:
Bob maintains active memberships with the State Bar of Texas, where he has been in good standing since 1996, as well as the Family Law Section of the State Bar of Texas. He is a member of the McLennan County Bar Association and the McLennan County Criminal Defense Lawyers Association. Bob also serves as a volunteer mediator at the McLennan County Dispute Resolution Center.
When Bob and Allanna met in 1998, they sat together every weekday morning drinking coffee and reading the daily newspaper at a local law firm they both worked at. They parted ways and eventually found one another again when Allanna moved back to Waco. Bob asked her to lunch on a Wednesday in 2014, and two years later, they got married in a law office by a local attorney. They’ve been inseparable ever since that mid-August lunch together. Between the two of them, they have five children, seven grand-dogs, and a grand-cat. At home, the couple shares a Schnauzer and Maltipoo. When they aren’t in the office, Bob and Allanna enjoy spending time in nature. Together they camp, hike, bike, and explore state parks. Their children are spread out across the country, so they often visit them and travel to other states on the way. The couple enjoys seeing the landscapes while on their road trips. Allanna spends time practicing photography, and Bob enjoys spending time playing golf and woodworking.
Allanna Angel
Allanna Angel, our Legal Assistant and Office Manager, was born in Clifton, Texas, and has lived in the Central Texas area for almost all her life. With her Executive Legal Assistant degree from Central City Commercial College (4C Business College) in 1991, Allanna went right into the law industry.
One of the most rewarding parts of working in the field of law is helping people through some of the most challenging times of their lives. Allanna herself went through traumatic events as a child and was adopted at the age of 4. Because of being a part of the “system” and her trauma, Allanna finds a lot of peace helping people feel comfortable through legal processes.
As “the wife” of the duo, she uses her impressive skills in shorthand and over 30 years of experience to ensure that you get the best care.
We share our home with two Mini Aussies, John and Lucy, Bella the Maltipoo adopted from Fuzzy Friends, and Liam, our rescue cat from the Waco Humane Society.

John Doe has also become an important part of our office and daily routine after being rescued four years ago. Since joining our family, he has brought a calm and comforting presence to the office and now comes in each day to provide emotional support, companionship, and plenty of smiles to both our team and clients.
